About Me
Hi, my name is Chi Lung, a full time private tutor with 15 years of experience in tutoring secondary school students from mainstream, international schools and tutorial centre settings. My teaching journey started as a university tutor and laboratory demonstrator at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where I organised, designed, and instructed experiment courses to undergraduate students. During this period, I also had the opportunity to prepare exam papers and evaluate current courses.
After my graduation, I decided to teach in tutorial centres, which allowed me to transfer my skill set and instruct classes in a more personalised and efficient manner. Through years of experience, I have become pragmatically equipped in teaching not only various international syllabus and the local curriculum, but also inspire students to use complex scientific knowledge in daily life. My Teaching Philosophy
As an ex-scientist with great enthusiasm for science, I want to help my students think and work like scientists.
My educational goal is to equip students with an analytical mind and critical thinking skills in order to pave their paths in medical and scientific fields. With this educational goal in mind, I strive to be a mentor for middle and high school students holistically and pragmatically.
With my in-depth understanding of IB, you can expect clear and comprehensive scientific theory explanations in class, allowing students to apply theories confidently in exams. Furthermore, I integrate complex theories with cross-subjects knowledge to better fulfil the course requirements.
Interest and hobbies that I integrate to lessons
Since childhood, I enjoyed reading fictions and watching clips about science. Then starting at university, I have been religiously following the annual Shaw and Noble prizes. This all helped me understand the need to apply complex knowledge to benefit daily life and make me use my critical thinking skills constantly.
